Zalgo Text Generator

Zalgo originated from a creepypasta meme about an ominous entity that corrupts everything, including text. The corrupted text style became known as "Zalgo text" and spread as a way to create creepy, glitched-looking messages online.

Zalgo text stacks many Unicode combining characters (diacritical marks) on each letter. These marks--designed for accents and modifications--overlap and extend beyond normal text boundaries when overused, creating the corrupted appearance.

Moderate Zalgo is safe for most platforms. Extreme Zalgo with many combining marks can cause display issues, overlap other content, or slow rendering. Some platforms strip excessive combining characters. Test before deploying in production.

Screen readers struggle with Zalgo text, potentially trying to announce each combining character. This creates a terrible experience for blind users. Never use Zalgo for essential content--keep it decorative and provide plain text alternatives.

Adjust the intensity level and direction settings. Lower intensity adds fewer combining marks for subtle corruption. Choose specific directions (up, down, middle) to control where the glitch effect extends, or combine all three for maximum chaos.
